Why We Started Walker College Consultants
The idea behind Walker College Consultants came from the need for quality college advising for families of all backgrounds in the Las Vegas's community. Herbie Walker having worked in the field of college advising and community outreach since 2005 realized that even in the year of 2015 that many families did not have access to quality college counseling. With the overwhelming caseloads of high school counselors and the constant changing landscapes of college admissions, it is difficult to stay current on the best methods for admission. This access was the driving force behind making services available to those who need it the most.
Our goal is to help families navigate this complicated landscape. Methods to a successful application differ by state, major, and whether a college is a public or private institution. We want our clients to feel at ease during this process and we do this primarily through one-on-one consultations.

Herbie’s successes include raising college matriculation rates while at the “I Have a Dream” Foundation and founding effective and appealing programs at Andre Agassi College Preparatory Academy to provide a variety of academic school year and summer opportunities to students. His holistic approach to transforming students’, schools and lives emphasizes college readiness and positive leadership, fostering a culture of engagement and giving students the tools and confidence to excel.
